Cross Country

Well done to the Ursuline students who took part in the Waterford Schools Cross Country Championships on 30th November in St. Augustine’s College, Dungarvan.

Mollie Hutchinson had a marvellous individual win in the minor race. In this race the Ursuline School also won the team even after great runs by Emer Walshe (4th), Kate Finnegan (7th), Rachel Daniels (10th), Helen Cahill (11th), Hannah Jacob (15th), Aleisha McDonald (18th), Venera Berisha (21st ), Niamh Denn (24th) and Naomi Gunning (30th).

In the Junior race, good runs by Krista Meade (5th), Niamh Murphy (8th), Isobel Morgan (11th), Juliet Tosini (13th) and Sarah Jane Hackett (18th) enabled Ursuline to finish 3rd team.

Our Inter team also finished 3rd team thanks to fine runs by Ruth Leavey (9th), Grace Flynn (13th), Orla Trihy (17th), Mide Power (18th), Clara Leamy (23rd) and Grainne Kavanagh (24th).

The Senior race was a personal triumph for Orna Murray who had a terrific individual win. And great runs by Aoife Stockdale (4th), Anna Kelly (7th), Laura Lynch (8th) and Orla Lacey (13th) helped Ursuline get 2nd place in the team race.

The determined running of all who competed for the Ursuline was rewarded when the Ursuline were joint winners and the best school overall, along with St. Augustine’s College.
